Welcome to Langport - an ancient market town in the heart of Somerset. It retains much of its old world charm and is unique among the many ancient settlements in this remote unspoilt area known as the Somerset Levels and Moors. It is set in a parish of 170 acres and its historical features suggest its earlier importance.

Langport is situated on the banks of the River Parrett and this has played a significant part in its fascinating history. Its role as an important trading post in the 18th century is reflected in its fine architecture and in the historic wharfs and warehouses now being sympathetically restored. The attractive river area is now important for leisure and tourism.

Today the town has major trade and business links providing services to the many surrounding villages.
